Arthur Small is an economist and data scientist. He serves currently as Lecturer in the Department of Engineering Systems and Environment at the University of Virginia. Small served as Associate Professor of Applied Economics and Finance in the Department of Meteorology at Penn State University; and as Assistant Professor in the Graduate School of Business and the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. He also served as a data scientist for a company that makes software systems for combatting financial crime. He holds a A.B. degree in mathematics from Columbia University, an M.S. in mathematics from Cornell University, and a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of California at Berkeley.
