My co-author pointed it out, see overleaf.com/blog/… Yes, it's exposed as a normal Git repo. We have no relevant "commits" from edits on overleaf yet, so I don't know how that would look (the user does show as "Anonymous" at least). From git point of view the only restriction so far seems that the main file is named main.tex , but I could e.g. add extra image files without problems.
