Feb 20, 2013 at 9:10 comment added T. Verron About "not going back and forth"... LaTeX usually provides comfy ways to say "meh, I'll decide how that looks later, first I finish writing this paragraph/chapter/report". In this specific case, it may not be completely trivial, but I'm sure it's possible. Also, if you want to mark these URL as references, you'll need more metadata to describe the reference (a title and an author at least), so that someone reading only the list of references will know what they are about.
Feb 19, 2013 at 21:56 comment added Callum @AnonymousMathematician it was regarding re-structuring something that could be done correctly the first time around
Feb 19, 2013 at 21:34 comment added Anonymous Mathematician As a meta-comment, if you are trying to produce a high-quality, well-written report, then trying to avoid having to go back and edit anything is a questionable strategy. Maybe it doesn't matter (some things just need to be recorded crudely, and polishing them is irrelevant), but the last sentence of the question ("I do not have time to waste...") seemed a little worrisome.
Feb 19, 2013 at 18:14 comment added JeffE Why doesn't a web site suffice as a reference? Isn't every reference just noting a document for further reading?
Feb 19, 2013 at 17:44 comment added Callum Oh sorry, the question was supposed to say what is the best way to note a website url? Would it be to reference and cite a url, would it be adding a footnote? an example would be to reference to google.com. Would it be the correct to just create a footnote?
Feb 19, 2013 at 17:08 comment added Andy W In addition to Dave's advice (which is what I basically do in most circumstances) - it isn't that crazy to just cite a website. See some examples in APA here.
Feb 19, 2013 at 16:49 comment added Dave Clarke Question is not very clear. Or perhaps you are answering your own question. Why not use a footnote combined with \url{} (from the url package)?
