Feb 14, 2015 at 10:32 comment added Francis Davey In some universities membership of student societies by faculty is common and in principle required - in Cambridge University recognised societies had to have a "senior treasurer" who would often be a lecturer or college fellow. How this worked out depended a lot on the society, but the largest societies (eg the dancers' club) had lots of staff as members.
