Sep 7, 2014 at 22:10 comment added Nate Eldredge You should perhaps clarify what subfield of computer science you intend to pursue, and whether it would be a masters or PhD. Generally, I would expect that grad school in computer science, especially at the PhD level, would skew more towards theory. Perhaps one of the computer scientists here will clarify, but I believe that practical skills such as programming are less of a focus at the graduate level, whereas theory is emphasized.
Sep 6, 2014 at 16:10 comment added Aditya @New_new_newbie To be frank, I was not expecting a good news man when I posted this question. I just wanted to know how bad my situation is with all my semester theory exams score following the trend, 3 papers 70 ~ 80 1 paper 80+ 2 papers 60 ~ 70. I guess my standing in class is around 20/66. I don't think even the 10 above me have a better grade in practicals. Its a engg degree right? shouldn't the admission committee place more stress on my practical skills then theoretical ones ?

Sep 6, 2014 at 16:06 comment added Aditya People fail the lab exams @New_new_newbie thats less than 40. Yes the labs are lenient but I guess like around 5 or 6 out of a class of 66 got 90+ in all labs.
Sep 6, 2014 at 15:50 comment added 299792458 I don't mean to discourage you, but please also take into account that marking for practicals is, in general, a lot more lenient as compared to theory. What is the lowest score that anyone got in these practical exams?

Sep 6, 2014 at 12:18 comment added Arno What sort of subjects is this about? A pratical/theory distinction doesn't always make sense, and the potential answers certainly could depend on the subject even more.
Sep 6, 2014 at 11:47 comment added Aditya I am from India, country with insanely dense population and most liberal exit visa policy. Almost all of the Indian colleges I know separate practical and theory grades so I am sure this question could be helpful to many.
