Generally, I would expect that grad school in computer science, especially at the PhD level, would skew more towards theory. Perhaps one of the computer scientists here will clarify, but I believe that practical skills such as programming are less of a focus at the graduate level, whereas theory is emphasized. | |

I just wanted to know how bad my situation is with all my semester theory exams score following the trend, 3 papers 70 ~ 80 1 paper 80+ 2 papers 60 ~ 70. I guess my standing in class is around 20/66. I don't think even the 10 above me have a better grade in practicals. Its a engg degree right? shouldn't the admission committee place more stress on my practical skills then theoretical ones ? | |
