Nov 13, 2014 at 15:41 | comment | added | reirab | My mother worked in a U.S. university records department for several years and, as you suggested, they don't keep track of how the student was doing in a class at the time of dropping. At this particular university, dropping before the 2 week mark resulted in no grade at all (e.g. it wouldn't even appear on your transcript.) Dropping before about 4 or 5 weeks before the end of the semester (I forget the exact deadline) resulted in a 'W' grade which was listed on the transcript, but with no GPA effect. After that time resulted in a 'WF' which counted as an 'F' for GPA purposes. | |
