May 20, 2022 at 12:56 comment added Anonymous Physicist @NoahSnyder I do not agree with those who say "blind" is being used in a way that equates blindness with ignorance. "Blind" is used to refer to postponing knowledge intentionally for a valid purpose. That's not like ignorance.
May 20, 2022 at 10:01 comment added Noah Snyder Just to give a counterpoint, I did find one well-reasoned argument taking the opposite viewpoint. I think the issue is less about these descriptions being negative, and more about the underlying assumption that if you can’t see something then you don’t know anything about it. But I don’t think there’s a strong consensus here the way there is with some of the other examples you give.
