He reply was following: thank you very much for your message and your interest. I do not know yet whether or nor I will have the capacity to take on new students in the fall, but you are welcome to apply at our graduate school : Institute website.

Question: Should I follow up with him? I saw the website and the admissions are centralized with deadline in April.

He is the only Prof. in the institute whose interests align with me.
