Aug 7, 2020 at 12:49 comment added David258 As a parallel, scientific results from a very messy lab wouldn't be rejected, but it may make reviewers/readers question the results (contamination, reproducibility etc.). However "hiding it " by not being open about the experimental set-up and design definitely wouldn't re-assure people that your results were good!
