Aug 6, 2020 at 13:07 comment added Andrei @Thomas but how do prerequisites work?
Aug 5, 2020 at 13:45 comment added Lithopedion My American BA was counted as part of the coursework for a western European MA program which was, in turn, later counted as covering the subject requirements for my teaching accreditation in that same western European country.

Removed irrelevant tags and added some. I think the "personal-misconduct" tag is relevant as OP is asking about behavior that they worry will be perceived as misconduct by the university, not to claim that OP is proposing committing misconduct, but perhaps on those grounds the tag doesn't fit.

Aug 4, 2020 at 15:45 comment added Faheem Mitha I'm stating the obvious here, but the answer depends heavily on the country. In countries run by a totalitarian government, or where the rule of law is not functional, or both, anything is possible. Both of the above are depressingly common. So I recommend stating your country for useful answers. Answers that apply to Western Europe may not be so relevant to other places, for example.

Aug 4, 2020 at 4:25 comment added Azor Ahai -him- @jamesqf I don't think OP means exactly that, but teacher licensure rules can be arcane.
Aug 4, 2020 at 4:01 comment added jamesqf I have a couple of questions. First does an MA/MS degree actually depend on having a BA/BS? Sure, you generally need the lower degree to be accepted into a masters program, but a quick search says that it is possible to get a masters without a bachelors. So the OP's MA would seem to be secure. Second, if the college revoked a degree that you depend on for a living because of your expressed political views, would you not (in the US, at least) be in a position to sue them for a very large amount of money?

Generalized the politics being discussed, as it has not been demonstrated as relevant to the question, and it is unnecessarily provocative and polarizing.

Aug 3, 2020 at 12:23 comment added Wrzlprmft Moderator’s notice: For the sake of this question, assume that the complaints in question are reasonable, i.e., the college is actually overdoing it and the complaints are uttered in a civil manner. (Otherwise, as already noted, a degree revocation may be the least of the asker’s worries.) Refrain from making general accusations against any political movement or anti-movement as well as from using any derogatives to characterise it.

Aug 3, 2020 at 8:43 comment added Thomas Steinke "my teaching degree depends in part on my MA, which in turn depends in part on my BA. Theoretically, if my BA got revoked, I could lose my teaching accreditation and hence my job." That's not how pre-requisites work.
