Feb 18, 2020 at 20:53 | comment | added | Wouter | Thanks, first of all I was totally mistaken about the definition of impact factor (thought it was the total citation rate without time window). I thought about the fact that the distribution is not normal before, but with the mistaken notion of IF it wasn't really helpful. Well, actually, my first paper was only published in 2017. My believe was that citations mainly come in the first few years, and older papers only seem to have many citations because of survivorship bias (but it seems I was wrong). Let me quickly accept your answer to stop the downvotes :p | |
