About

I have had a physics and astronomy research career for fifteen years over three masters degrees and some lesser independent research beyond. My main background is in computational astrophysics, specifically gravitational waves and black hole binaries as well as exoplanets and cosmology, in both data analysis and theory. I have a masters in physics from Louisiana State University (2017), a Masters in Physics from University of Minnesota (2013), a Masters in Astronomy from Ohio State University (2006), and a Bachelors in Physics from MIT (2004). My numerical and statistical programming experience is in Python, C++, Fortran, Matlab, C, and Java, though only Python is current and C++ maybe could be with effort.

It's been seven years since I have been affiliated with a university. Currently I am significantly disabled by seizures and migraines. I am hoping to someday move into data science, but it is hard to make progress toward that goal when I am genuinely disabled, which is the same thing that prevents working full time. How am I supposed to find time and energy to study beyond work? Hopefully my health will improve someday, and that goal will become more realistic, since I still have a huge enthusiasm for physics and astronomy, and would love to work with an open dataset in that field as a member of the public, and I would also love a career that used my scientific programming background somewhere in industry.
