Should I ask for a Letter of Rec from a Newer or Older Colleague?
@user151413 adjuncted for a year, and just secured a full time position last August. Fall semester was too teaching intensive for me to work in research. On top of that, I went to a very small grad school with little funding and didn’t make any collaborators during my time there. Trying to change that now.

@Buffy Yes, i definitely have the prerequisite skills to enter this field, it’s just new for me.

Is it acceptable to leave an adjunct teaching position 10 days before classes begin?
@avid I suppose my question is more about etiquette and what's expected in this situation. Do academic institutions generally have greater expectations around leaving a position too close to the academic term, or are the expectations consistent more or less with any other industry when leaving a position? I suppose I'm asking because I don't want any of my previous bosses saying that I should've given them more notice and that I created a faux pas for them in needing to find someone else last minute.

Retroactively Awarding Extra Exam Time
It’s actually nobody’s fault. I knew about my responsibility far in advance of the exam; this situation really just was a communication breakdown.

@Z4-tier That is actually incredibly helpful to hear. Whenever I download my video lectures it shows the transcript of what was in the chat box, but I’ve never seen private messages saved. I’ll look into this.
