I am really into going to PhD next year. I found some programmes that suits me, but I am asking myself, if I should apply on more programmes than one.

The problem is, that I have a weak background in researching, so there exists option to be rejected.

So here comes the question: Should I apply on more PhD programmes?

Some programmes require reference letter from professors of supervisors. Should I ask for genereic reference letter?

Thanks in advance for answers.

  • Hi and thanks for posting this question! Your main question has already been asked here (see the linked post). If you believe your situation is different, please edit this post to clarify how and it may be reopened. – ff524 Dec 11 '14 at 6:39
  • The question about a generic reference letter is separate from your main question. Please ask it its own (new) post. (See Write one question per post to understand why.) – ff524 Dec 11 '14 at 6:41
