I am trying to understand the difference between a systematic mapping study and a systematic literature review. Although I have searched about the difference, I still find it confusing as it still for me both gather information about previous research related to one topic.

Can you please explain it to me in simple words?

Then please also link to some publicly available sources you have looked at that did not clarify your confusion.
