I am a 16 year old student with a high school diploma through a Korean GED test, planning to apply for an online degree in computer science next year. Reviews about the coursework provided by the University of London seems to be satisfying. My goal is to proceed to an offline Master's degree after the online course. My research-focused alternative school would likely push me to write some papers in journals, and make some sort of portfolio in Github.

Would I be available to successfully apply into a US/European top-tier university's master's degree program? Or would there be alternative ways to proceed? Experiences and experiences on UOL's online degree program would also be helpful.

Thank you for your time.

Interesting question. We don't normally "provide an assessment" of particular programs, but I think a general question about whether any online bachelor programs are reputable enough to get into a top grad school would probably be well-received (so maybe consider editing your question to generalize it).

  • Does a high school diploma through a Korean GED test meet the entry requirements of the University of London? European universities typically enrol students older than sixteen. This isn't a requirement. It's just that the required qualifications are typically achieved later. Students that meet the requirements early can enrol early.

  • Would I be available to successfully apply into a US/European top-tier university's master's degree program [with an (online) Computer Science degree from the University of London]? Assuming the University of London is a top-tier institute, then it should be possible to enter a top-tier master's program.

  • @cag51 Thank you for your advice! I inquired about the age requirements to UOL previously, because the website told me I should be 17+ for entry. They said there wouldn't be a problem in admission if I have acquired a high school diploma. Another question I asked in quora gave me a satisfying answer. Thank you both very much for your time:)
