This is what the university reads,"Admission to the doctoral Materials Science and Engineering Program (MSEP) requires a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale). A Master of Science degree is not a prerequisite for application to the program".Does having a 3 point in Masters help me to get through even if I have a below 3 point in undergraduate?

  • @BryanKrause Not really.I would like to know exactly what the quot implies. In US a lot of PhD programs do not require masters. Hence I am asking. – user586228 Aug 11 at 20:42

You have to ask an individual program what their own definitions of minimum requirements are (this is stated in answers to the linked question, by the way, have you read them?). Additionally, these are minimum requirements, and for a competitive program the minimum might not mean much and most applicants who exceed the minimums will not be accepted. – Bryan Krause Aug 11 at 20:48
