I'm currently in the process of preparing a manuscript for a double-blind peer review journal that builds significantly upon prior work. Currently the manuscript is written along the lines of,

... we make use of [method] (Author and Coauthor, [date]) along with the [technique] outlined in Author ([date]) in conducting this study ...

While it might be possible to summarize them, there are a lot of details that a diligent peer reviewer would likely want to have access to. Given the niche area and how recently the papers came out, its a pretty easy conclusion that the author of the blinded manuscript is the same as the published papers. As such, how can I maintain my anonymity for double-blind review when building upon prior work?
