This is the first week of fall semester in our university. It is still very hot and I understand everyone has right to wear what he/she wants to wear. But I my class one female student is wear too much revealing/short cloths. I found male students turning their neck to see her again and again.

What is the best way to handle such situation without hurting someone's feeling, and without creating controversy?

Can professor dictate dress code for class room?

Umm... don't go there. These are the hashtag times, no matter what you do, that brings attention to how a female is dressing, is carrying a risk of making the internet collectively mad at you. Unless this is a really really really serious issue, which I fail to see how it could, don't do anything. – Stian Yttervik Aug 15 '18 at 7:58

You have a real problem with inattention to the lecture by some of the students, who are wasting their time staring at one of their peers. You presumably have some policies and strategies for getting attention back - use them. Maybe ask a yes/no question, with a show of hands to select an answer. – Patricia Shanahan Aug 15 '18 at 10:41
