UKRI reserach grants in my field generally only pay for 10% of a PI's salary, and departments rarely reduce teaching load irrespective of how much of your time is paid by UKRI (on project grants, the fellowships mentioned are different). So for example, URKI pays for 40% of my time (across various grants), but I have the same teaching load as when I had no grants. | |
